This course provides a solid grounding in hospitality technology and the management of information systems. It explains how computer applications are used in all hospitality functional areas, including reservations, rooms, food and beverage, sales and catering, and accounting. Students will learn the basics of purchasing, implementing, maintaining, and managing today's information systems. This course also explores system and security maintenance, and technology positions in the hospitality industry.


Core Competency: Technology applications in travel industry

  1. Be familiar with various latest technologies used in current tourism industry;
  2. Describe technologies used in meetings events, and conventions industry
  3. Understand the information systems and applications used in hotel daily operation;



Core Competency: Use technologies to deliver tourism products and services;

  1. Be able to maintain and manage hotel information system, and make sure systems operate properly
  2. Be familiar with various information system such as Guest Reservation Systems and Rooms Management
